Seattle’s favorite Socialist shows us what’s coming. Kshama Sawant = Vulture. She’s the first and will not be the last. It’s why we must be on guard.

Dear friends,
The coronavirus crisis, a worldwide pandemic, is ravaging our communities and putting at risk the lives and health of thousands in our city.
In addition to the direct threat to people’s lives from COVID-19, working people and those marginalized in our society to begin with, are the ones most at risk from the vast spectrum of social consequences resulting from this pandemic.
That’s why Councilmember Tammy Morales and I are calling on Seattle City Council to urgently pass our Amazon Tax to fund COVID-19 Relief!

Call on Seattle City Council to join Councilmembers Morales & Sawant to:

  • Immediately pass the Amazon Tax to raise at least $500 million by taxing big businesses to fund Coronavirus Emergency Relief!
  • Continue the tax as an ongoing Amazon Tax for Social Housing & a Green New Deal after the pandemic is over!

Workers are seeing reduced, and even entirely eliminated, paychecks as a result of the Coronavirus crisis. Many will find it difficult if not impossible to fulfill their daily needs, let alone pay the rent or mortgage beginning next month. A study last year found that 60 percent of Americans are unable to cover an unexpected $1,000 expense. Meanwhile, the lack of Medicare for All and utter failure of Trump to address the crisis has put millions at risk across the country.
It would be unconscionable to place the further burden of the Coronavirus crisis on ordinary working people and those who are already most economically stressed.
The City Council has the responsibility to immediately take all steps necessary to address this crisis. That’s why Councilmember Tammy Morales and I are calling for an immediate enactment of the Amazon Tax that we have already proposed, but passing the ordinance immediately in order to fund the emergency needs of our community.
Among our immediate needs are cash assistance including for lost incomes of working people, urgent funds for testing and treatment, tiny house villages for homeless neighbors, and relief for struggling small businesses hit by COVID-19.
Big business has long been enjoying a tax haven in Seattle and Washington state. They need to immediately start paying $500 million/year as the Amazon Tax to fund COVID-19 emergency relief fund. After the pandemic has ended, the tax must be continued to fund social housing and the Green New Deal in order to address our critical housing and climate crises, as put forward by Councilmembers Sawant and Morales and the Tax Amazon movement.

Citizens must be especially vigilant about politicians like Sawant and Inslee during times like these.

They’re gonna push for all sorts of things that’ll be presented as:

“It’s an emergency, we had to do it.”

“It’ll only be temporary.”

“If you oppose it, you want people to die.”

These include attacks on our constitutional rights, especially the First Amendment and 2nd Amendment, as well as on our family pocketbooks. We must stay vigilant.

Most frustrating of all, Jay Inslee’s orders and restrictions all require sacrifices of regular citizens but none require the government to sacrifice.

How ’bout suspending the imposition of sales taxes to help customers and small businesses survive Inslee’s private economy shutdown?

How ’bout cancelling property tax payments this year so that renters and property owners can weather Inslee’s private economy shutdown?

Jay Inslee’s orders and restrictions demand everything from regular citizens, nothing from government.

We deserve better than Kshama Sawant. We can do so much better than Jay Inslee.

I ask you to do 2 things:

1)  If you’re upset about Inslee’s private economy shutdown, please donate $30 (or hopefully more) to my campaign (credit card or PayPal hereTim4Gov.com/donate or mail checks to: Governor Eyman for WA, PO Box 2107, Olympia, WA, 98507). I need your help to save Washington from 4 more years of Jay Inslee.

2) Forward/share today’s update with friends, family, and co-workers. Help us get the word out. Make sure to send them this “one page” about my race for Governor: https://tim4gov.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/EymanForGovernor-Flyer4_color.pdf. Invite them to join our team.

I make you this promise: support me in this effort and I’ll give you a race for Governor like you’ve never seen before.

I love you all.

Tim
