We’ve got great momentum — we’re working hard to keep it going

  5 times the voters have approved initiatives to require a 2/3 vote of the Legislature to raise taxes.  Voters approved all 5, supporting each one by a bigger vote than the time before.  The last time it was on the ballot, in 2012, it received more votes than any initiative in state history.  Voters want it to be tougher to raise taxes. 

          It’s time to make the 2/3 permanent.  To vote to put it in the state Constitution.  To forever protect taxpayers from Olympia’s insatiable tax appetite.  

          This year’s legislative session is a perfect illustration of why Initiative 1366 is absolutely essential.  Look what happens in Olympia when the 2/3 protection is NOT in effect:  $15 billion in higher statewide taxes passed by the supposedly tax averse Senate, authorization for Sound Transit to impose $11 billion more on taxpayers in the Puget Sound, Governor Inslee complaining that even that $26 billion isn’t high enough. 

            It’s nuts!

            It’s early, but we’ve got great momentum for the 2/3-For-Taxes Constitutional Amendment Initiative:  we’re all working really hard to keep that momentum moving forward.  We’re already “on the streets” with professional signature collectors but we need your help to keep them out there (that’s why we need you to donate).
