A successful businessman has offered to match all March donations to Initiative 1366

My $150,000 loan to the I-1366 campaign from a 2nd mortgage on my home supercharged the month of February.  It allowed us to immediately hire professional signature gatherers and spurred many of our supporters to help.  It was an explosive first month.

         But to ensure the success of the 2/3-For-Taxes Constitutional Amendment Initiative, we need to pick up the pace.  

         Thankfully, we’ve been given a tremendous opportunity to maximize this month’s effort:  one of our supporters — a successful businessman — has offered to match dollar-for-dollar all donations our supporters give during the month of March.  So your $10 donation will be matched by him, resulting in $20 total to the campaign.  Your $100 will be matched by him, resulting in $200 total to the campaign.  $1000 is worth $2000.  $5000 is worth $10,000.  

         Whatever amount we receive from all of you will be matched by him.  It’s a very generous offer and an even greater opportunity for the campaign.  Please maximize your support for I-1366 by contributing this month.   

          We didn’t make it last year because we didn’t work hard enough.  Not enough money was raised, not enough signatures were collected.  With your help, that will not happen again.

          The 2/3-For-Taxes Constitutional Amendment Initiative is the most exciting, impactful, needed initiative we’ve ever done.  Voters have 5 times supported initiatives requiring a two-thirds vote of the Legislature for any tax increase.  We want that policy to be permanent.  We want that policy enshrined in our state Constitution.  And once it’s there, it’s forever.  Politicians can never take it away.

         17 other states already have in their state Constitutions a supermajority vote requirement for tax increases.  Let’s make Washington state #18.  But we need your help to make Initiative 1366 a reality.

       We have from now until July 2nd to get over 320,000 voter signatures to qualify our critically important initiative for the ballot.  That’s over 2000 signatures PER DAY!  That’s a huge mountain to climb.  That’s why we’ve already hired professional signature collectors to help.  That’s why we need you to donate.  

        Let me be absolutely clear:  success is the only option with the signature drive for I-1366.  Please help us make it happen.
