Car tab taxes have skyrocketed because state and local governments are ripping us off — $30 Tabs Initiative tells politicians “We’re mad as hell and we’re not gonna take it anymore!”

State and local governments are ripping us off

Voters have twice passed initiatives capping vehicle registration charges — car tabs — at $30 per year.  And for about 15 years, we succeeded at getting them lower.  Our initiatives over the past 20 years have saved vehicle owners hundreds and many times thousands of dollars every year.

But recently state and local governments have jacked ’em back up again.

Worst of all, they’re dishonestly calculating the value of our vehicles to artificially inflate the taxes we’re forced to pay.  Saying a $10,000 truck is worth $25,000 is fraud.  But they’re continuing to do it because nobody has given taxpayers a way to fight back.

We’re fighting back.

Taxpayers have been screaming at politicians for years about this injustice.  And during the last two legislative sessions all we’ve gotten are baby-step bills and broken promises.  They’re just talking, they’re not doing anything.

Initiative 976 fixes it.  We get rid of the vehicles taxes and fees imposed since our earlier $30 tabs initiatives passed and explicitly repeal that dishonest vehicle valuation schedule.  So it’ll cost you and your friends and family just $30 per year to license your cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorcycles and other vehicles.  $30 means $30.

We’ve done it before, we can do it again.

After 3 months of collecting signatures, we reached 202,172 in early July.  That’s good, but we have to reach 300,000+ by the end of December.

Lots of supporters are donating but we need a lot more.

Lots are supporters are requesting petitions but we need a lot more.
