For 2016, Pam Roach is our Legislator of the Year — help us congratulate her
The framed award reads:
VOTERS WANT MORE CHOICES
Legislator of the Year
SENATOR PAM ROACH
For us, the highlight of the 2016 legislative session was watching Sen. Roach’s relentless effort to convince her fellow lawmakers to respect the voters’ approval of Initiative 1366 and refer a 2/3-for-taxes constitutional amendment to the ballot. It was heroic. Taxpayers are lucky to have Pam Roach fighting for them. Her strong support for the people’s right to initiative is sincerely appreciated.

Congratulations, Senator Roach, you are the Legislator of the Year.
There’s only so much room on a plaque to highlight all the things we admire about Senator Roach. So let me add this:
As Chair of the Senate Government Operations Committee, she oversees all bills relating to the initiative process. For years, too many of her fellow legislators have sponsored and promoted bills to undermine and destroy the people’s initiative process. She made sure each of those horrible bills were stopped.
She’s been such a strong advocate for the initiative process that this year not a single anti-initiative bill was even introduced. Anti-initiative legislators have learned that Senator Roach will have none of it.
So it’s not just the legislation she sponsors or the high profile speeches she gives or the flashy legislative hearings, it is her steely resolve to protect the people’s right to participate that makes her deserving of this year’s award.
To you, Senator Roach, we offer our deepest appreciation.
We ask that you please send her your sincerest thank you (cut and paste these addresses into the “To” line of your email and send it to her and her superstar legislative aide):
