I am calling for civil disobedience.

Join me and REFUSE to renew your vehicle tabs if your bill includes taxes and fees that were specifically targeted by I-976. It is absolutely critical that the people of Washington state, regardless of how they voted, not pay taxes and fees that the voters voted to get rid of.

The voters have 3 times approved these vehicle-cost-saving-initiatives and it is tyranny for Seattle’s government to sue the voters because the voters didn’t obey their masters. 60% of voters in the 38 counties outside King County voted for I-976. Nearly 60% of Snohomish County voters and 66% of Pierce County voters passed it. And in King County areas outside Seattle, the voters passed I-976.

It was the high turnout Seattle no vote that hit nearly 80% that skews the vote totals and makes it seem close. It wasn’t close at all.

Voters outside Seattle voted emphatically against these obnoxious vehicle taxes and fees that state and local governments are currently imposing.

And here we are today, in a downtown Seattle courtroom, about to have a Jay-Inslee-appointed judge — who is employed by the plaintiff — decide if our votes count.

But corrupt courts are not, shall not, and will not be the final word.

The final word comes from the people. We have the right to self-determination. Government can only function with the consent of the governed.

I’m asking everyone to do 2 things:

1) Give $30 to my run for Governor — hundreds of regular citizens giving $30 is a big slap in the face to Bob Ferguson & Jay Inslee (Tim4Gov.com/donate).

2) Civil disobedience – do not renew your tabs. I refuse — you should also. The voters passed a law — for the 3rd time — capping tabs at $30. I will not pay taxes and fees the voters deemed illegal. To do so would validate their tyranny and encourage more of it.

Isn’t it worth $30 to drive Bob Ferguson crazy? If you agree, then donate $30 today (Tim4Gov.com/donate) and convince others to do the same.

Peaceful, non-violent, non-cooperation. I will not renew – none of us should.

To comply is to submit. To acquiesce is appeasement.

They are the lawbreakers, not us.

What if I get pulled over?

Since Nov, I’ve been driving all over this state with expired tabs – not pulled over. Millions of vehicles on the road, likely never will. If you are pulled over, this is what I would say and what you should say:

“Hello officer, I am a law-abiding citizen and I am engaging in peaceful protest – the voters voted for $30 Tabs and I’m happy to pay $30 but not a penny more. My vehicle tab bill was ($### ) and I didn’t pay it because my government didn’t respect our vote. It’s not that I forgot, or that I’m cheap or a scofflaw. I didn’t pay it because this is principled peaceful protest against a huge injustice. I respectfully request you use your discretion and issue me a warning.”

I’m hearing from a lot of people — including members of my own family — that officers are issuing warnings. 95% of them know what’s going on and sympathize with voters — they’re taxpayers too.

If you are one of the handful who do get a ticket, don’t pay it, appeal it. Months from now, in a written appeal or in person in court, tell the traffic court judge same thing as above. Likely dismissed or they’ll knock it down to court costs ($25-$75).

REFUSING to renew your vehicle tabs is not a crime. It’s a non-moving violation. It’s basically a parking ticket. The odds of you out of millions vehicle owners getting pulled over for expired tabs is slim. If you do get pulled over, tell them that not renewing your tabs is our Boston Tea Party and ask them to give you a warning. If you’re cited, don’t pay it, appeal it. Let’s clog up traffic courts all across Washington with heroic, patriotic citizens who will tell the court that you are standing up for democracy. Invite me to your hearing and I will stand with you and for you.

And always remember: getting a ticket is likely cheaper than the cost of the tabs.

You can even buy a 3-day trip permit and that’d be cheaper too.

Small price to pay for the defense of democracy.

The General said – “You don’t think we’re just going to walk out of India!”

Gandhi replied – “Yes. In the end, you will walk out. Because 100,000 Englishmen simply cannot control 350 million Indians, if those Indians refuse to cooperate.”

Civil disobedience is an absolutely legitimate way to fight back against injustice. Throughout human history, many have sacrificed much more to oppose oppression than the possibility of paying the price of a parking ticket.

Each of us must decide for ourselves how to fight back. My suggestions are peaceful and I definitely prefer peaceful non-cooperation versus the alternative.

So tell Bob & Jay to stick it by giving $30 (Tim4Gov.com/donate) today. And join me in boycotting paying your tabs ’til our vote is respected.

I make you this promise: support me in this effort and I’ll give you a race for Governor like you’ve never seen before.

I love you all.
