Imagine how politicians will react if our initiative doesn’t qualify

by | Jun 17, 2015

Olympia has been going absolutely tax crazy for months.  A new state income tax (they’re calling it a capital gains tax but it’s the same thing), a 5-fold increase in property tax increases, higher gas taxes, sales taxes, and car tab taxes.

There’s over $100 billion in higher taxes being pushed in Olympia right now.

With the Legislature going absolutely bonkers for higher taxes, how will politicians react if Initiative 1366 doesn’t qualify?

If the 2/3-For-Taxes Constitutional Amendment Initiative doesn’t qualify, politicians will say to themselves:  “In response to all our efforts to raise taxes, voters didn’t care, voters didn’t rebel, voters didn’t fight back.  It’s clear that voters accept the necessity of higher taxes.”

Politicians only know what they hear.  And what they’ve heard non-stop at hearings in Olympia have been the voices of the powerful special interest groups that are constantly pushing for bigger government.

Our supporters cannot drive to and from Olympia on a workday to testify for 2 minutes at hearings in Olympia.  Why?  Because they’re too busy working for a living, running businesses, and taking care of their families.

The initiative process provides the only way for the average taxpayer to have an equal voice in the process.

Last year, we fell short.  Politicians noticed — they’ve been going tax crazy ever since.

We are agonizingly close to qualifying.  We have just 2 weeks left to raise the money necessary to collect the required signatures.  Don’t let this incredible opportunity for permanent protection from higher taxes pass us by.

Success is the only option with the signature drive for I-1366.  Please help us make it happen.
