Inslee’s agenda: all-taxes-all-the-time. Tell legislators: DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!
RE: Inslee’s agenda: all-taxes-all-the-time. Tell legislators: DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!
We’re stuck with a Democrat Governor, but at least he’s incompetent, doesn’t listen to voters, and is completely out-of-touch.
Despite promising to veto tax increases, ever since he’s become Governor, Inslee has been pushing for new energy taxes and income taxes, especially a capital gains income tax.
Nine times the voters have repudiated an income tax (in 2010 nearly 2/3 of voters rejected Bill Gates income tax initiative — it lost in all 39 counties: .
In 2015, 64% of voters voted to reject Inslee’s new gas tax package (http://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20151103/Advisory-Votes-Advisory-Vote-No-12-Second-Engrossed-Substitute-Senate-Bill-5987_ByCounty.html)
And in 2016, 59% of voters said NO WAY to an initiative that proposed new carbon taxes (http://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20161108/State-Measures-Initiative-Measure-No-732-concerns-taxes_ByCounty.html).
During Tuesday’s state of the state address, Inslee awkwardly, clunkily, and unpersuasively tried to convince legislators to join him in ignoring these clear anti-tax mandates and impose the biggest tax increases in state history.
Like a scorpion, Jay Inslee cannot change his nature (https://www.bedtimeshortstories.com/story-of-the-scorpion-and-the-frog).
But here’s what we can do: we can tell the 147 legislators who are elected to represent the people of Washington that they should NOT sign on to Inslee’s taxing schemes.
I ask you — RIGHT NOW — to email this, or something like this, to ALL legislators (tell ’em what ya think):
“Legislators, voters have overwhelmingly rejected in recent elections new income taxes, fuel taxes, and carbon taxes. Taxpayers are already overwhelmed by the $23.679 billion in tax increases imposed by the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 legislatures http://thisiscommonsense.com/library/37035-2/. And citizens are also completely shell-shocked by Sound Transit’s $54 billion in higher sales taxes, property taxes, and car tab taxes. We’re tapped out. Any push for higher taxes this legislative session will only fuel this year’s ‘We Don’t Want An Income Tax Initiative.’ Governor Inslee is proposing the biggest tax increases in state history — that may play well with the Seattle crowd, but folks outside Seattle strongly oppose Inslee’s taxing schemes. Don’t try to take more of the people’s money — we’re taxed enough already. Legislators, adopt a no-new-taxes budget and go home.”

Sending these 2 emails will really help — BUT IT’S ONLY EFFECTIVE IF WE ALL DO IT.
After 20 years of fighting for taxpayers, we’ve learned that the most effective way to fight the Democrats’ tax-hiking schemes is by taking our case directly to the people. That’s why we’re moving full steam ahead with We Don’t Want An Income Tax.
Jack, Mike, and I are committed to protecting taxpayers. But we can’t do it alone. We need everyone’s help.
