Jay Inslee couldn’t be bothered with a question WA voters care about. He’s way too important. He has no patience for the people’s petty concerns.
Yesterday, an Elway poll came out showing nearly 60% of voters outside King County disapprove of Jay Inslee’s job performance. It’s not a mystery why.
As he runs for a 3rd term, voters are tired of a Governor who calls them stupid, says they were confused when they voted for $30 tabs, and refuses to respect the voters decision.
Ever since a King County judge put I-976 on hold, Jay Inslee can lead the Legislature to implement $30 tabs — he refuses to.
Why? Because he’s not interested in representing the people, only ruling over them.
He showed that yesterday.
For weeks, people have been asking me questions about what’s going on – why $30 tabs hasn’t taken effect, why their vote didn’t count, what’s happening.
I’m not dodging their questions or avoiding their questions. I’m trying to get answers for them. Because that’s what normal people do.
I’m a regular citizen just like you. But as the initiative’s sponsor, my role is to get answers to your questions and to make sure your voice in heard.
So in a suit and tie, I went to Olympia yesterday to ask Jay Inslee a question that many of you have been asking me. In one of the senate’s public hearing rooms, there was an event where he was going to be doing Q&A.
Four hours before the event, I sent an email his staff, legislators, and the media telling them I was going to ask the question. During Inslee’s prepared remarks, I sat quietly and listened.
When others asked questions about other topics, I listened. When someone asked a question about I-976 and the Governor said something that wasn’t true, I stood up and calmly asked Jay Inslee my question.
I asked again. He refused again.
I asked my question 4 times, each time he refused. Our back and forth lasted all of 40 seconds.
Apparently, that was 40 seconds too long for Jay Inslee to listen to the people’s petty concerns.
I’m running for Governor because it’s time we have at least one branch of government in Olympia that respects your vote and listens to the will of the people.

I believe taxes are way too high and need to be lower — starting with reducing vehicle tabs to $30!! As Governor, I will veto ANY tax increase and there will NEVER be a carbon tax, income tax, or pay-per-mile tax as long as I’m in office. It’s an absolute certainty that Jay Inslee will impose all three in a 3rd term.
I believe in the Bill of Rights and so I’m thoroughly disgusted with Jay Inslee and Bob Ferguson for constantly attacking the rights guaranteed by our state Constitution and U.S. Constitution (free speech, faith, the right to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our community).
In the coming months, my team and I will roll out Governor Eyman’s Contract with Washington which will highlight my policy priorities as Governor. I look forward to rolling those out — and then hearing what you have to say about them.
I make you this promise: support me in this effort and I’ll give you a race for Governor like you’ve never seen before.
I love you all.
