Mosh Pit Politics is the only way to win. I’m the only candidate who will do that.
In 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002, I sponsored 4 initiatives limiting taxes and all 4 won at the ballot box. In 2003, a country club Republican senator named Pat Hale pushed a bill attacking the initiative process. Like a Tasmanian devil, I went after her and her anti-initiative bill HARD.
She was quoted in the newspaper saying, “I’m not going to engage with Mr. Eyman. You know the old saying: wrestle with a pig and you both get dirty — and the pig enjoys it.”
I won that fight (we killed the bill in committee).
Why did I win?
Because I believe in Mosh Pit Politics:
THIS IS THE ATTITUDE YOU MUST HAVE TO WIN IN THE SNAKEPIT OF POLITICS.
I beat Pat Hale because I was willing to fight — ferociously — to protect our constitutional rights. And the voters agreed with me.
For 22 years, I’ve won the support of voters — Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. Repeatedly.
For decades, the establishment keeps telling us to nominate Republicans who are nice, civil, and respectful:
That approach has failed — repeatedly.
The other guys in the race are also very nice, civil, and respectful.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
They’ve never run a statewide campaign (I’ve run 17 of them).
They’ve never won a statewide campaign (I’ve won 11 of them).
They’ve spent more time going after each other than going after Inslee (I’ve stayed focused on Inslee).
When the rules said to stay seated, I was the only one to stand up:
When Inslee ordered everyone to stay home, the other candidates complied. I kept campaigning because voters want a fighter … and I knew that 4 more years of Inslee is more dangerous than COVID.
When the rules said you couldn’t mention Jay Inslee’s name in the voters pamphlet, the other candidates followed the rules and never mentioned him once. I defied the rules — and won:
