My vehicle tabs are 11 months overdue. I won’t, and you shouldn’t, renew until they’re $30!

by | Aug 17, 2020

After 8 months of hard work, in Jan 2019, we turned in 352,111 voter signatures for Initiative 976 and qualified it for a public vote:

Despite being outspent $5 million to zero, I-976 passed overwhelmingly:

Then Seattle sued the voters:

When Inslee blocked it and said voters were “confused,” I confronted him:

When the AG tried to sabotage it, I confronted him:

I even confronted the King County judge:

By the time mid-February rolled around, I-976 was so obviously legal and constitutional that even this judge upheld it:

So why aren’t we paying $30 tabs?

It’s on hold because of the AG.

The state supreme court heard the appeal in June.

We’re waiting for their decision.

My vehicle tabs are 11 months overdue.

I won’t — and you shouldn’t — renew until they’re $30!!

In 11 months, I’ve been pulled over twice. Both times I said something close to this:

hello officer, it’s not that I forgot to pay my car tabs. I’m willing to pay $30 but not a penny more. The voters passed the initiative. This is a peaceful protest, officer, so I ask you to please use your discretion and issue me with a warning.”

Both times, I received a warning.

Civil disobedience is absolutely appropriate here.

I urge you to follow my lead and stand up for our rights and our vote.

Rest assured, my run for Governor only enhanced my commitment to fight for our country and for the people of the state of Washington.

I continue to need your help to survive AG Bob Ferguson’s investigation / litigation / persecution of me and my family. The only reason we’re still here is thanks to the heartfelt prayers and generous support from friends like you.

In addition, we worked really hard on our $30 Tabs Initiative.

We got I-976 qualified, passed, and upheld by that King County Judge (it’s still on hold because of the AG’s sabotage). Karen and I sacrificed a lot — we sold off our retirement fund and loaned $500K to kickstart its signature drive.

We’re asking folks to donate so we can get paid back. Please help with that:
