Politicians will be pushing for massive tax hikes soon — we must protect ourselves
Clearly, the people oppose massive tax hikes. Over and over and over again our tougher-to-raise-taxes initiatives have been approved by voters. Over and over and over again, our tax reduction initiatives have been embraced by the voters.
Despite the citizens’ repeated and unambiguous message, too many politicians are gearing up to push massive tax hikes next year. They’ve forgotten that they are “representatives” and instead believe themselves to be “rulers” over us. It’s absolutely maddening.
What are their tax schemes?
* The property tax levy swap. Too many politicians are rolling over for the state supreme court and are supporting and pushing this rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul property tax scam. We’re talking about a multi-billion dollar property tax increase at the state level that shatters the 1% cap that both the voters and the legislature have established. It’s pure insanity but it’s coming like a freight train next year.
* A new capital gains/income tax. It’s the Holy Grail for these guys — they’re never gonna stop pushing for it. And because the state supreme court is mandating massive increases in taxes, the only way to generate billions is with a new capital gains tax/income tax.
* Increases in every tax, fee, and charge that’s ever been thought of. Next year, no one is safe.
And given how things function in Olympia, politicians in the Legislature will “compromise” by imposing all of these horrible tax schemes.
