Tell Senate Republicans that all of us support their no-new-taxes position

Inslee and House and Senate Democrats are waiting around for the Republicans to throw up their hands and say “You guys win, let’s all vote to raise a bunch of taxes.”
On day one of this session, Senate Republicans insisted on a 2/3 legislative vote for any tax increase bill. They’ve taken a no-new-taxes position for the past 4 months. They’ve heard from the public that they’ve got the support of 2/3 of the voters for their no-new-taxes position.
It’s important that Senate R’s hear again from us that we support them.
Please everyone – RIGHT NOW – send an email to the 25 members of the Majority Coalition Caucus — cut and paste these email addresses into the To line:
jan.angel@leg.wa.gov; Barbara.bailey@leg.wa.gov; Michael.baumgartner@leg.wa.gov
Email them this or something like this:
“MCC members, you have the people’s support for not raising taxes. There’s $3 billion in additional revenue from existing taxes — you are right that that’s more than enough. Nearly 2/3 of voters at the ballot box have repeatedly made it clear that the people oppose the Legislature raising taxes. Nearly 2/3 of voters, especially those in legislative swing districts, will support you as long as you stand your ground. Always remember that Inslee/Democrats/Big Labor/WEA-sponsored judges/the media want higher taxes but they only represent 1/3 of voters. You represent the supermajority of voters who don’t support tax increases. Thank you for what you’re doing – we are grateful you are listening to us.”
The Senate Republicans and Democrat Tim Sheldon are doing exactly what we want. Tell them that.
