I spent 4 hours yesterday driving to and from Olympia so I could testify for 2 minutes.
The room was packed with the folks who will be getting the money; taxpayers were scarce because they were at work.
Olympia is going absolutely bonkers because there’s no 2/3 protection. There is a lengthy laundry list of proposals for massive tax hikes: a new state income tax (they call it a capital gains tax), a new carbon tax (cap & tax), higher taxes on customers of businesses, higher gas taxes, car tab taxes, property taxes. It’s nuts.
The most effective way to fight back against Olympia’s tax insanity is by helping us make the 2/3-For-Taxes Constitutional Amendment Initiative a reality.
The signature drive for I-1366 is going like gangbusters. Signatures are pouring in from our professional signature gatherers and our volunteers. But that early surge is causing a huge cash flow problem for us. We need the financial resources to pay for these voter signatures.
In response to this cash flow problem, I have loaned the campaign another $100,000 from a 2nd mortgage on my home. That’s in addition to the $150,000 borrowed in early February.
