Why special session? Democrats’ demand for higher taxes

         I ask you — RIGHT NOW — to email this, or something like this to ALL legislators:

“House and Senate Democrats, it’s your fault there’s a special session.  Your demand for higher taxes is the only reason things are getting delayed.  Why should taxpayers be forced to pay for your failure to do your job?  It’s past time for you to accept the reality that 2/3 of voters oppose the Legislature raising taxes.  We’re taxed enough already.  It is undeniable that Sound Transit’s all-out pig-out on taxes is a big reason the people can’t support higher taxes.  Skyrocketing car tab taxes, burdensome property taxes, crushing sales taxes — they’ve sucked all the oxygen out of the room when it comes to taxes.  You’ve got nearly $3 billion more in revenue so you can easily adopt a no-new-taxes budget.  There’s no way the taxpayers will tolerate higher taxes this year, not with Sound Transit’s car tab rip-off.  To all legislators: vote NO on any tax increase bills this year.”
