CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE: my car tabs expired 3 years ago, I still haven’t renewed them. I refuse to. My tabs are $0 until they respect our vote.
Wed, Oct 5, 2022
It’s right there on my license plate:
It’s been that way for 3 years.
I refuse to renew.
Every citizen has the right to express their opposition via civil disobedience.
And why shouldn’t we?
Our initiative qualified for ballot:
Opponents spent $5 million attacking it (even using tax dollars):
We spent nothing — we only defended it at free public forums.
Voters overwhelmingly passed it:
And that was for the 3rd time:
But Jay Inslee said voters were confused:
Seattle sued voters:
A Jay Inslee appointed judge upheld the initiative:
But Bob Ferguson sabotaged the court case from beginning to end which resulted in the State Supreme Court striking down the initiative (they ruled that the AG’s ballot title for the initiative was “misleading and deceptive”).
Voters were furious:
So I didn’t renew in 2019.
I didn’t renew in 2020, 2021, or 2022.
During those 3 years, I’ve been pulled over 3 times.
And all 3 times the officer DID NOT give me a ticket.
Why?
Because I made it clear that this was a peaceful political protest and so I asked them to use their discretion and not issue a ticket.
Each time, the officer wished me well and sent me on my way.
Until they respect our vote, my car tabs will be $0.
We must be willing to fight for our rights.
I’m urging you — while I’m fighting to help our state and our nation — to please donate to my legal defense fund.
