KIRO’s Dori Monson got something very wrong — check out this very short video.

Mon, Nov 22, 2021

We’ve been working together on initiatives for 22 years.

About 15 years ago, there was a documentary about it.

There was a brief Seattle Times story:

I

Paul recently contacted me and told me that YouTube had taken it down and told me it was OK to share a portion of it.

Please watch this very short clip which shows the ending (click on the image to watch it):

Well it’s clear that KIRO’s Dori Monson got something very wrong. He said:

“Eyman’s going to continue to put forth these initiatives. He’s going to continue to profit from it. And he will be the most powerful, non-elected, wealthiest politician in the state.”

Here’s an excerpt from the declaration I sent out last week:

All the money I earned in my lifetime is now totally gone – it was spent on the State’s litigation against me (because money raised for my legal defense fund was not enough to cover all of it) and for personal expenses.

My Bank of America account ending in 926 (I use it for my legal defense fund) has a balance of $2852.78 (Nov 16, 2021). … My Bank of America account ending in #371 (I use it for my personal expenses) has a balance of $2870.29 (Nov 16, 2021). … Due to the burdens caused by the State’s litigation, my income in recent years has been non-existent. My 2019 tax return shows my total income was negative $1435 and my 2020 tax return shows my total income was negative $10,344. The State knows this.

So that is the state of affairs for me as of now due to the State’s litigation onslaught against me and my family.

Am I the “wealthiest politician in the state”?

Nope.

Ferguson spent more taxpayer money going after me, my family, and our supporters than all other cases in the last 9 years COMBINED!

$2.9 million.

For years, he had direct access to all my tax returns and bank statements and individual transactions.

He even mirrored my hard drive and reviewed every single email and document.

And what did he find?

Zip, zero, nadda.

No crimes, no tax dodging, no child porn, nothing.

But he couldn’t squander that much money and not charge me.

So he made something up — something completely unprecedented and bizarre.

That I, Tim Eyman the individual person, was a walking talking political committee, the first in Washington state history.

And as a political committee, the thousands of friends who were helping me and my family pay my lawyers and pay the government had given “political contributions.”

But none of the checks were ever made payable to a political campaign.

They were like this one from longtime friend Erma Turner from Cle Elum:

And like this one from longtime friend Sid Maietto from Snohomish:

None of these were for initiatives so none of them needed to be put on campaign reports.

The treasurer for our initiatives’ political committees was Stan Long who was a CPA, tax attorney, and former IRS investigator.

He concluded that none of these were political contributions because none of them were ever spent for a political campaign.

And under state law, it is the treasurer who is legally responsible for filing campaign reports — I was never the treasurer, Stan was.

So did Ferguson go after treasurer Stan Long for his decision to not report these on campaign reports?

Nope.

The AG’s office didn’t charge Stan with anything.

They didn’t interview him.

In fact, they never even talked with him.

Instead, Ferguson targeted me and charged me, and not Stan.

And then they said that I knew I had “become” a political committee in 2012 and that I purposely chose not to register as a political comitte back then (so I knew I was a PAC even though no one in human history had ever been a PAC? Really?)

And it was this absurd fabrication that enabled the AG to claim that “Tim PAC” (me) was over 10,000 days late with the monthly reports I hadn’t filed for 8 years (resulting in the $2.6 million fine).

By the way, only treasurers are allowed to file reports — since I wasn’t the treasurer, I couldn’t have even if I thought I needed to.

And when they got the publicly elected judge in liberal Thurston County to go along with the AG’s unprecedented re-interpretation of the law, the AG asked the judge to charge me the $2.9 million the government had spent going after me.

The judge said “sure.”

And then the AG asked for a litany of ridiculously unconstitutional restrictions on the First Amendment — none of which are authorized or even mentioned in state law or the state or federal Constitutions.

The judge OK’d every single restriction the AG asked for.

This whole thing is a total farce and clear abuse of power by Bob Ferguson.

So we are appealing this case and will continue to do so.

Why?

Because if he gets away with this with me, he’ll just target others.

And I can not and will not let that happen.

I need your help to make sure that what Bob Ferguson is doing to me never happens to anyone ever again.

While I’m fighting to help our state and our nation with my initiative efforts (Repeal Capital Gains Income Tax w/ I-1408 and 7 Election Integrity Initiatives in 7 key swing states) and my lawsuit against the Governor for his abuse of power (Eyman v Inslee), I ask you to please help me fight back against Fascist Fergie.

Please support this critical effort to appeal these ridiculously unconstitutional restrictions on the First Amendment and protect others from this kind of political persecution:

Don’t let the guy who’s profited more from politics than anyone get away with this:

As you know, we worked really hard on Initiative 976:

Karen and I sacrificed a lot — we sold off our retirement fund to kick-start its signature drive:

And now, a message from Sid Maietto and Larry Jensen:

We’re asking folks to donate to our PAC so we can stop all current and future income-based taxes with Jim Walsh’s Initiative 1408:

The taxpayers of Washington need our help now more than ever. Donate to our political committee so we can keep fighting for you:
