Polling shows that attorney Joel Ard’s STOP ALL INCOME TAXES INITIATIVE is a winner (that’s why we’re promoting his Initiative 1499 (polling also showed that the CAP-GAINS-TAX-REPEAL-ONLY approach the Initiative 1929 campaign was pushing was doomed).

Check out these incredibly encouraging polling results on attorney Joel Ard’s STOP ALL INCOME TAXES INITIATIVE (“This measure would prohibit the state, counties, cities, and towns from imposing or collecting taxes it describes as ‘based on personal income’, and repeal a tax on sales of certain capital assets”):

41% Strongly approve
20% Somewhat approve
61% Combined approval

10% Somewhat disapprove
17% Strongly disapprove
27% Combined disapproval

12% Not sure

This poll was conducted among likely voters from across the state.

So this polling clearly shows that voters don’t want any kind of income tax — not the Democrats’ capital gains income tax or any other type of income tax.

There’s a reason public support is so high for this initiative — it’s because of the brilliance of Joel Ard’s approach which you can see in section 1:

(1) The state is prohibited from imposing or collecting taxes based on personal income.
(2) The prohibition in this section applies to taxes based on personal income whether imposed on taxpayers or taxpayers’ employers and whether called incomes taxes, payroll taxes, or excise taxes and therefore includes a seven percent tax imposed on certain individuals’ capital gains enacted in 2021 and repealed by section 2 of this act.

I-1499 protects all taxpayers from any kind of income tax.

It helps everyone.

So I-1499 not only eliminates the Democrats’ capital gains income tax (what they called an “excise tax”) but any kind of future income tax regardless of what they call it (if the tax is based on an individual’s personal income — which the cap gains tax clearly is — then it’s illegal, verboten, unlawful, prohibited, blocked).

In a lot of ways, these poll results shouldn’t be surprising — the last time voters had the chance to vote on whether or not they wanted an income tax, 64% voted against it.

I’m a numbers guy.

I don’t just “go with my gut” (although after 22 years of school-of-hard-knocks-experience, my gut is pretty good) — I want to see what level of public support there is for an initiative before going forward with it.

Frankly, no initiative campaign “convinces” voters to support it — the most you can do is to keep the people who are already for your initiative in the “yes” column.

So we’re on the right path promoting attorney Joel Ard’s Initiative 1499 — it’s a winner.

In contrast, polling shows that public support is much, much lower for the CAP-GAINS-TAX-REPEAL-ONLY approach the Initiative 1929 campaign was pushing before they imploded (“This measure would repeal a 7% tax on annual capital gains above $250,000 by individuals from the sale of stocks and certain other capital assets (exempting, for example, real estate and retirement accounts)”):

28% Strongly approve
20% Somewhat approve
48% Combined approval

18% Somewhat disapprove
21% Strongly disapprove
39% Combined disapproval

13% Not sure

These are bad numbers. Anytime you’re below 50% at the outset of a campaign, it’s time to reevaluate your approach.

Again, these poll results shouldn’t be surprising.

First of all, the AG sabotaged their ballot title by never allowing the word “income” to appear anywhere in it. Sound familiar?

This new 7% tax is clearly imposed on certain individuals’ capital gains income.

But Bob Ferguson supports income taxes, especially this one, and his liberal-socialist base backs it, so he made sure to sabotage this initiative’s ballot title by not including the word “income” in it.

I battled in court against the AG on numerous times regarding this important point.

And what was Ferguson’s argument in court?

He said that including the word “income” in the initiative’s ballot title would be “confusing” to the voters (sound familiar?).

The polling clearly shows that Initiative 1929’s approach (repeal only) was doomed to fail.

And it shows that attorney Joel Ard’s approach has much higher public support because it not only eliminates the Democrats’ capital gains income tax but any kind of future income tax (and thus, the word “income” is included in Initiative 1499’s ballot title and that’s why its’ polling results are so much higher).

It’s because Joel’s initiative helps everyone.

And that’s why we’re excited to be promoting it.

Is it any wonder Bob Ferguson wants to prohibit all my future political activity?

Appealing the AG’s ridiculously unconstitutional restrictions on the First Amendment is absolutely critical. Because if he gets away with it with me, he’ll just target someone else.

And I refuse to let that happen.

I’m only here is because of the love and support of folks like you who’ve watched this gross abuse of power by the AG and are willing to help me and my family get through this.

I love you all.

And now a message from Larry Jensen & Sid Maietto:
