Voter approved 20 years ago and still the law today: 1% cap on property tax increases. It’s saved taxpayers $17.23 billion. Old article shows why AG wants to take away our house.

Another reason Fascist Fergie wants to take away our house: for decades, I’ve used our garage as campaign headquarters for our initiative campaigns.

We’ve chalked up a lot of taxpayer victories from there.

So to retaliate, the AG is taking it away.

Basically he’s imposing retroactive retribution.

What a small, petty, vindictive little man he is.

But you know what really gnaws at him, what really drives him nuts?

It’s that despite all the crap he and his cheerleaders in the press have thrown at me, it hasn’t changed how the voters vote on our initiatives.

I made that point in my hometown newspaper 20 years ago:

(the reporter didn’t include what I said after that: “I stopped doing those things months ago”). 😊

It was 2001.

That was the year we sponsored and promoted Initiative 747 which put a much tighter cap on how much governments could raise property taxes each year.

It imposed a strict limit on the state, counties, cities, ports, and other local governments.

1% per year.

Anything higher required voter approval.

Prior to that, each government consistently raised property taxes the maximum they could: 6% per year (so whatever amount your property taxes have gone up over the years, it would’ve been 6 TIMES HIGHER if not for our initiative).

By then, politicians and the press freaked out and threw the kitchen sink at me/us.

Despite those vicious attacks, we successfully qualified the initiative for a public vote.

And then the 9-11 attacks in New York happened.

And politicians like Bob Ferguson tried to exploit that tragedy.

Stuff like this was common:

Despite all these personal attacks, the initiative passed by a huge margin (58% yes).

Since that law took effect 20 years ago, it’s saved taxpayers $17.237 billion.

It’s still the law today.

Voters don’t care who’s sponsoring an initiative — they only want to know what the problem is and if the initiative will fix it.

Besides my lawsuit challenging Inslee’s abuse of power, I’m working really hard sponsoring and promoting initiatives in Washington state and working with our team on 7 Election Integrity Initiatives in 7 key swing states.

I want to give you VALUE for the help you’re providing to my legal defense fund.

As I’ve said many times, I am appealing these ridiculously unconstitutional restrictions on the First Amendment to make sure what the AG is doing to me never happens to anyone else ever again.

I am so incredibly grateful for your prayers and support during this very difficult time for me and my family.

I’m only here because of the love and support of thousands of great people who see this gross injustice and are willing to help stop it.
