Help me beat back politicians’ attacks on our First Amendment rights.

To beat back these attacks on our 1st Amendment rights, I’m asking EVERYONE to email all 147 legislators and tell them to oppose these bills and urging EVERYONE to sign up and testify against these bills (hearings Wed & Thurs).

Olympia is attacking our First Amendment rights with several bills:

1) Inslee’s bill makes it a crime to criticize elections (Senate Bill 5843).

2) House Bill 1727 is the Democrats’ bill that cuts in half our initiative rights by banning the people’s right to initiative in odd-numbered election years. More details here.

3) House Bill 1876 is the Democrats’ bill that empowers Bob Ferguson to sabotage any initiative he opposes. It allows him — without appeal — to insert inaccurate, biased language into an initiative’s ballot title. More details here.

4) Senate Bill 5554 empowers local governments to impose new income taxes without a vote of the people. 

5) The Democrats-Take-Away-The-People’s-Right-to-Vote Bill (Senate Bill 5182). Thanks to voters passing this law 3 times, whenever Olympia imposes a tax increase and violates the people’s right to referendum by declaring an emergency, there’s a tax advisory vote on the November ballot reporting how much it’ll cost and how legislators voted on it. This bill takes away our right to vote and keeps future tax increases hidden and legislators’ voting records secret by repealing tax advisory votes. More details here. 

What do these bills have in common?

They all attack our First Amendment rights. 

I ask you to do 2 things:

My message to legislators: these bills attack our First Amendment rights. I am adamantly against them so I urge you to strongly oppose SB 5843, HB 1727, HB 1876, SB 5554, and SB 5182.

Copy & paste this (or something like this) into the body of the email (tell ’em how you feel):
I am sick and tired of Inslee and the Democrats attacking our First Amendment rights. Stop it. The right to initiative, the right to vote, the right to speak: they are sacrosanct. They are the bedrock of our state and federal Constitutions. Inslee’s bill making it crime to criticize elections is deeply offensive and wrong (SB 5843). Repealing the initiative power (HB 1727) and empowering the AG to sabotage initiatives (HB 1876) are infuriating. Allowing local governments to impose new income taxes without a vote of the people? I despise SB 5554. And I am adamantly opposed to SB 5182 which takes away the people’s right to vote. Voters have 3 times passed the law requiring tax advisory votes so that voters will know when Legislature raises taxes, how much they’ll cost, and how legislators voted on them. We don’t want secret tax increases, we don’t want legislators’ voting records to be hidden. LEAVE OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS ALONE!! Oppose these awful anti-1A bills.

Is signing up cumbersome and difficult?

Yes.

Why?

Because they don’t want you to do it. 

So do it anyway.

Is it any wonder the AG is pushing for a lifetime ban on all my future political activity?  

I can’t make any money doing my political activism.

I can’t make any money with my lawsuit against Inslee for abusing his power.

I don’t have the same rights as other Americans do anymore.
